After a five-month State of Emergency and a current State of Public Calamity, local authorities issued that children in school years with exams (Year 7, Year 10 and Year 12) will be the only ones returning to school in 2020. The remaining school years will automatically pass to the next school year and will return to school in March 2021.
Local authorities are visiting the country’s schools to guarantee that security and prevention measures are being followed and will be in place when most children return to their day-to-day school routine. Therefore, many children’s guardians lent a hand and helped clean.
For the entire week, children’s guardians cleaned Santa Luísa de Marillac School, in Manjangue. From the canteen to several classrooms, the school is now ready to welcome back more than 900 children.
