Day 10: Artists at the HIV Day Centre!
At the heart of the HIV Day Centre is a magical space where creativity takes wing: the Talent Room. Here, each child has the opportunity to explore their gifts and express their imagination through activities that go far beyond the usual.
One of the biggest highlights is the cutting and sewing area, where, under the careful guidance of a master, works of art made with vibrant capulanas emerge. Small but skilled hands transform colourful fabrics into elegant bags, charming headbands and other unique products made with love and dedication.
This space is more than an atelier. It’s a haven where children discover passions, develop skills and create pieces that not only enchant, but also carry with them the promise of sustainability. Sister Aida has breathed new life into the activities, uniting the sponsored children and others from the Centre in projects that reflect the power of unity and teamwork.
Each piece made here is a bridge between Mozambique and Portugal, an invitation to support this mission.
With these creations, we not only foster the children’s autonomy and personal growth, but also create opportunities to generate funds to ensure the continuity of these activities. The promise of a sustainable future begins here, where talent meets opportunity and where every Small Gesture transforms lives.
At the HIV Day Centre, creativity is more than an expression: it’s hope in the form of art. 💜
