The family of Juvêncio Fernando Cossa and Inês Fernando Cossa has a history marked by courage, dedication and perseverance.
At the centre of this journey is the mother, an extremely hard-working woman who always worked tirelessly on other people’s farms. Even with limited resources, she never lost hope. She invested what little she managed to save in setting up a small business, which is now a reality: a stall at home that significantly helps to support the children and the family.
Juvêncio, 13, is currently in 4th grade and has been part of the Chongoene Mission Programme in rural communities since 2018. He is a well-behaved, dedicated student with good school results, reflecting the effort and values passed on by his mother.
His sister, Inês Fernando Cossa, is 10 years old and in the 3rd grade. Like her brother, she is part of the programme, benefiting from the guidance and support that have contributed to her academic and personal development.
This is undoubtedly a story of overcoming adversity. It shows how hard work, determination and love for one’s family can turn difficulties into opportunities. The Cossa family is an example of resilience, inspiration and courage, proving that with effort and dedication, it is possible to build a better future, even in the face of great challenges.
