Over the past 2 months, we visited houses financed by A Little Gesture between 2012 and 2020. The main goal was to assess the durability of houses and latrines built with our help over the past 10 years. The outcome is inspiring!
Out of the 26 houses visited, it was with great joy that we realized that 77% is still in good condition. This detailed analysis allowed us to understand not only the quality of construction, but also the lasting impact that A Little Gesture’s support brought to the communities over the past decade.
This appraisal exercise is proof of our commitment to invest not only in the present, but also in the supported communities’ sustainable future. Each house represents bunch of bricks, but also a safe and lasting home, a symbol of stability and safety for benefited families over the years.
For us, success goes beyond the physical durability of houses. Each house is a symbol of stability and safety that we provide for these families. This is the foundation for a strengthened community, where construction resists the test of time. Each house is proof of what we can achieve when we get together for the common good!
These weekly visits to the sponsored families carried out by our technicians, have multiple goals: to accompany the children’s growth, understand the family environment, identify needs that we may cater for and assess our projects’ positive impact.
