Day 22: Little ones can help too!
Behind the scenes of the Sponsorship Programme’s monthly distributions, a real chain of solidarity unfolds. More than just the delivery of basic food baskets – with rice, beans, soap and other essentials – this moment brings the community together, creates bonds and, above all, teaches the children the value of co-operation and belonging.
It’s at the packing stage that the magic happens. The children, full of enthusiasm, get together to help divide the large bags of rice and beans into smaller packets. With small but eager hands, they take an active part, whether it’s packing the rice or the beans. Depending on the products of the month, such as oil or soap, there’s no need to pack, but there’s always something they can do!
More than just a chore, this involvement means a lot to them. They feel part of something bigger, connected to the community and the greater purpose of the action. The sparkle in each child’s eyes shows the joy of collaborating, of learning that, together, it is possible to transform lives.
These moments not only strengthen community ties, but also create lasting memories and lessons for the children, showing them that taking part is just as important as receiving. After all, every smile that spreads throughout the day is a reminder that unity is the most essential ingredient of all
