In A Little Gesture’s universe, the resilience cases shine like bright stars, lighting up the path for a better future. Amongst them, we highlight Artimiza, a young girl who, with determination and assertiveness, transformed challenges into achievements.
Artimiza’s journey began in the Sponsoring Program “Hokwé’s Children”. Her dedication and commitment soon turned her into a role model. She completed the 12th grade in 2016, Artimizia dreamt of a different professional life, distant from the difficulties faced by her parents.
In 2017, despite the obstacles (she couldn’t make it to University) Artimiza did not give up her dreams. She attended a public administration course, to prepare for what was coming. In the following year, she is rewarded for her resilience by entering the Zootechnical Engineering course. Thus, she became one of the first girls to be part of ALG’s Technical-University Scholarships Program.
In 2020, always keeping close to A Little Gesture, Artimiza takes up a crucial role as mentor in a project in partnership with Girl Move. Her goal was to inspire and guide younger girls, approaching sensitive subjects such as school abandonment, early pregnancy, and early marriage.
Artimiza embodies A Little Gesture’s mission. Her journey, full of surpassed challenges, is a beacon guiding others in the search for a promising future. Artimiza is an inspiration, contributing to building a legacy of intergenerational change. The path to break the cycle of poverty is brighter with stories like this.
The most recent chapter of Artimizia’s inspirational journey was marked by an extraordinary event. On the 1st of December, we proudly celebrated Artimiza’s graduation, a moment full of years of dedication and resilience. A Little Gesture is honoured by witnessing not only the academic graduation of this young girl, but also the development of a stellar leader and mentor.
By completing her graduation, Artimiza not only achieved a significant personal mark, but also consolidated her image as a role model.
