Using one of this year’s visit from the headquarters team to Mozambique, we organized focus group sessions to listen to the community voices and understand, in depth, the crucial needs of children, youngsters and respective families.
Each session had 15 participants sharing valuable perspectives. Along with Caio Moretto, Project Manager, Sonia Martins, UPG Portugal Sponsoring Manager, and Elisa Balate, Local General Coordinator, these focus groups have become a vital bridge between the community and A Little Gesture’s actions.
The main goal of these sessions was to identify the community’s most pressing needs. Listening carefully to experiences and challenges enabled us to adopt efficient and focused interventions, in line with the real needs of the ones we help.
Focus groups are not just a tool, but a powerful expression of community commitment. By fostering active participation, we strengthen the connection between ALG and the ones we help, guaranteeing a true impact of our actions based on the community voices.
At A Little Gesture, we believe that true transformation begins with listening. The focus group sessions are a crucial step to ensure that ALG approaches not only the perceived needs, but that also echoes the community’s experiences and aspirations.
