Day 8: Darcília’s new business – from dream to salon!
“Mamã” Darcília’s story is an inspiring example of courage, dedication and the relentless pursuit of a better future. She has always been a woman with big dreams, but also with her feet firmly planted in the reality of daily difficulties.
Before receiving support from the ALG Income Generation Project, “Mamã” Darcília already showed an admirable entrepreneurial spirit. In her home, she did small beauty jobs, helping women in the community to feel more confident. However, she lacked something essential: the resources needed to turn her passion into a sustainable business.
That’s when she decided to apply for the ALG project. Her desire to grow and improve her family’s life was what drove her to take this important step. Through ALG Income Generation, “Mamã” Darcília received funding that enabled her to finally acquire the equipment needed to set up her beauty parlour.
More than financial support, she received guidance, mentoring and support to ensure that her business grew in a solid and sustainable way!
Today, “Mamã” Darcília is a clear example of what the right support, at the right time, can do. Her beauty parlour has become a source of inspiration for other women in her community. Darcília’s business is not just a means of subsistence; it is a symbol of her self-reliance, her fight for a better future and her unwavering determination.
