Quelfon has been a part of the Sponsorship Program for about 2 years. He is in year 3 and is an excellent student. He lives with his mum and his 3 siblings in the 4th neighborhood of Manjangue. He benefits from a monthly essential basket and from a daily lunch in Santa Luisa de Marillac. Quelfon is so determined that he regularly visits Mano Orcido, the local technician of SLM, so that he can take pictures of Quelfon’s flawless homework and tests from school in order for Quelfon to be able to send them to his godmother who is very proud of her godson.
The ALG School Feeding Programme provides one daily meal at Santa Luísa de Marillac School. In 2019, 931 children (+3% vs 2018) benefited from a guaranteed daily lunch, which promotes school’s attendance.
With an annual cost of 28,130£, school feeding improves school attendance rates, results and progress, it provides relief for underprivileged children families’ budgets and fights gender inequality.
