The Santa Luísa de Marillac (SLM) School Feeding project, assures a daily warm meal to 930 children, during the school period. Lunch time is always a very anticipated moment of the day, therefore queues soon start to form near the canteen.
In long queues, distributed accordingly to children’s school years (from the 1st Year to 7th Year), underneath trees’ shadows and waiting with a plate brought from home in their hands, children are always supervised by schoolteachers and ALG Local Technicians.
When finished and with a full belly, children clean their hands and plates and a group of children starts walking home, while another group prepares itself to start their school day.
During the Covid quarantine in Mozambique, we converted these daily meals into a mini food basket to support these children!
