With local hunger increasing during the Covid-19 Emergency State, ALG distributed peanut seeds to Sponsored children in Chongoene and Xai-Xai. This iniciatove sought to promote independence and sustainability in these families during these difficult times.
Local Coordinator Elisa Balate and Local Partner Helder Machel visited two families that benefited from this initiative to evaluate the projects success: the Marta Alexandre Muhale family and the Neves Augusto Mapsanganhe family .
Even with local lack of water access due to extreme drought, the peanut seeds were cultivated without any constraints. Now, we the families are wait for rain to allow these seeds to develop. Check out these families’ machamba (vegetable hut) below!
