How to help

Join a project

Join a group, outside or inside your company, and sponsor one of our projects in whole or in part. We undertake to regularly provide you with all the detailed and personalized information about the project you decide to support.

We’re counting on you to offer a meal to the children of Mozambique!

This Xmas we are seeking URGENT funding for our largest project – the School Feeding programe at the two [impoverished and rural] schools of Santa Luisa de Marillac (SLM) and Sao Vicente de Paulo (SVP) .

The ALG School Feeding programme improves school attendance through the incentive of a free meal while supporting student performance by reducing hunger during classes. It promotes better health and gender equality, as girls do not have to skip school to cook for their brothers at home, as well as originating local and mostly female employment.

Meals are provided to the entire school population at SLM and SVP Schools, where our organization already sponsors 215 and 240 of the poorest children.

For monthly cost of £6/child, the combined school population of 2 300 students receive a daily nutritious hot meal, which is often their only meal during the day. These programmes were launched in 2013 and in 2022, respectively, with a significant and measurable impact on school assiduity, child health and academic performance to date.

At an annual cost of £143 thousand, this educational programme represents a significant effort for ALG and is under severe risk of being reduced in 2024. We are actively seeking individual donations and strongly encourage you as our friend to spread the word with friends, at work, or with any institution that you feel may help us in this effort.
